What is going on?

I use google and searched for example for BBC news, click on it and I get another randonm looking search engine, then when I click the bcak button it goes to another weird search engine that I've never even visited!

If I type a URL into teh adress bar it does go to the correct site.

Any ideas?

are you sure you are using the real google site?

Yep. It happens with any search engine - just tried.

that's a trojan - I can't remember what it's called off the top of my head - do you have spyware?

TenLordsaLapin · 24/12/2007 09:47

Possibly "2search"

or maybe this one

Does this only happen when using Internet Explorer, rather than say Firefox? If so, could be what is known as a Browser Help Object - which a trojan can infect.

Assuming you have a PC not a MAC, run Ad-Aware Free
Spybot Search & Destroy

With luck combination of those two will remove whatever is causing the trouble.
