Not sure if mobile phone is charging right?

Bought a mobile phone off my sister for DD for Christmas, sister bought a new battery for it as she thought it wasn't working right.

Have charged it fully and the phone has lasted 1.5 days before switching itself off.

Does this sound normal? We haven't been 'using' the phone, just pressing a button so it lights up occasionally or does it take a while for phone batteries to reach their potential charging wise?

Hmm doesn't sound usual to me if it hasn't been used much, I use mine a reasonable amount each day, maybe sending tenish texts and as you say pressing the buttons so it lights up and I probably only have to charge mine around twice a week.
