Have you tried pulling out all its cables, the serial cable, and the power cable, and then replugging them? it can happen if one has come loose or there is dirt on the pins - a good blow might help.

pukkapatch · 13/12/2007 20:39

do you have a flash disk thing? store it on that and let dd hand that in.
or email it to the office at school with covering note.
or, some teachers actually give their classes a specific email address for homework

close everything down, (computer, printer everything) switch off at plug, leave a few minutes whilst you make a nice drink and grab a biscuit, switch it all back on and it should work and you will be best mummy in the world.

(It wont work if you dont grab a biscuit and a drink )

my mate just said
'your buffers probably full of crap, unplug it and leave it for 5 or so mins and then try again'

good luck

if you cant get it to go ,do you have a friend you could email it to and they print it for you ?

howtheBOOKTHIEFstolechristmas · 13/12/2007 21:12

This happens to me at work quite a lot. The switching it all off/disconnecting all cables for a couple of minutes usually does the trick.

Generally not before some sod has let it print symbols on an entire pack of paper though, because they thought "it might sort itself out" .

MrsWeasleysmagicmincepies · 13/12/2007 21:14

but I'm right about the drink and a biscuit bit, arent I?

DingDongMummyLinOnHigh · 13/12/2007 21:18

shouldnt it be a mince pie

SleighlyMadSanta · 13/12/2007 21:24

Try printing a test page and see what you get.

You do this by going to printers on hte control panel. Find your printer. Right click> properties. Bottom of general tab> "print test page"

You should get a page which says contraulations you have printed correctly and then a load of geeky text about file locations etc.

Can you cut and paste it into another program, e.g. wordpad and see if it will print from there?

PartridgeinaRustyBearTree · 15/12/2007 10:30

Hope you got it sorted. If not, you may need this
