Locked out of VirginMedia email - help!

I am really at the end of my tether! VirginMedia keep locking me out of my Virgin.net email account which is the one I use for everyone. I've spent several hours now on their telephone helpline and LiveChat. Each time, the operative has got me to change my password which has then allowed me brief access to my emails but then I'm again locked out.

Today, I spent over an hour on the helpline again and the 'helper' made everything a lot worse! They got me to delete my entire browser history and then change my password for VirginMedia but linked to an incorrect and obselete email address - which I mentioned at the time but he said just carry on - and then got irritated that it didn't work and put me back on hold for someone senior. My phone battery then died, so the call ended.

Now I've still got no access to VirgnMedia email and daren't sign out of VirginMedia in case I can't sign in again, if the new password won't work. I've also got lots of secondary issues because of deleting my browser history.

I can't keep spending hours at a time trying to get through to VirginMedia as I really don't have time for this and want to change to a different email programme. However, I need access to my previous emails to get the hundreds of contacts and get in touch with all of them to change my email. But of course I can't access my VirginMedia emails.....

I can try calling VirginMedia again but as each call takes so long, I may get cut off mid-call and in any case have to go through the entire saga each time with no lasting results.

Does anyone know a different way I can get in touch with VirginMedia ie a different helpline based in the UK for example? LiveChat is just as bad as telephoning them.

I used to have a virgin.net address and then they sold us all to TalkTalk or someone because they didn't want to support virgin.net addresses any more. That was years ago. How have you hung on to that address for so long?!

I don't really know. I had similar problems about 4 years ago with my virgin.net email being blocked but I got this sorted out at last after about 2 to 3 weeks. However, this time it's much much harder to get any help at all. You can see that Virgin don't want anyone to get through to a human being and even if they do, it's no help.

Does anybody know how I can regain access to my email? Does anyone have a different way of contacting someone from Virginmedia to help with email? Is there no UK based office that deals with customers problems?
