Dh is going to buy a Nintendo DS for me and my DS for Christmas. I want the brain training, because I feel I am turning into my grandmother and cant even remember my DS' name some times . What games are good for a 6 year old, i want some with an educational slant. ANy suggestions?

Brain Training alone is a little bit dull to be honest. Big Brain Academy is aimed more at the younger audience.

Most kid's films have the game to go with them so you'll find stuff like Ratatoie (sp?).

For pure kicks though get Warioware Touched. It's full of little mini games which last between three and ten seconds one after the other. The further you get the faster it goes. It was out really early in the DS' life so it'll be dirt cheap by now.

I've heard Animal Crossing recommended here before

Nintendogs is great
So is animal crossing but they need to be fairly fluent in reading
cooking mama is good

and my ds 7 loves worms!

Animal Crossing sucks you in and is kinda strange.

One of my animals asked me to come up with a new phrase for him, being the jolly jape that I am I taught him some anglo saxon swearing and now he goes about cursing his head off.

It would be so bad if all the other animals hadn't have copied him. The whole village now sounds like a docker's yard.

I just got a DS and am hooked on animal crossing - don't think my 6yo would be able to cope with all the reading involved though.

I think there is a MarioKarts for the ds - my 6yo loves playing that on Gamecube.

Mario Kart for the DS is fantastic, especially when playing online.
