DS has just turned 11 and has been given an old Samsung phone in prep for the journey to secondary school. At this stage I would prefer him to only be able to use it for text and calls, and not access the internet/youtube. We have a Family Link account and I thought it would be as straightforward as blocking the browsers through that. But it seems you can't block the Google app on Family Link as it's a system app - so he can still use that to search and view images and videos.
Am I missing something? Does anyone know if Qustudio or any of the other paid for apps are able to block all browsers including the Google app? Or do I need to get him a brick phone?
