Can anyone recommend or suggest a home CCTV system where you can have more than one camera and have them live streamed to a small screen/monitor at home (not to a TV or phone) and that records when there is any 'action'.

We don't want remote viewing via phone, we don't want the ability to talk to anyone through it (so not Ring doorbells etc).

We do want the ability to go back and look at recorded footage of any movement/action , we do want the ability (when at home in the house) to look at the screen and see the live images from the cameras.

Thank you

Loads of good options for this.

Swann and Yale and the like do kits, but the best value are build it yourself kits from the like of Annke or reolink, they have all the features you are asking for and all the ones you don't realise you want yet.

Get one with PoE (power over ethernet) so you only need to run one wire to each camera. You can access the recordings via a pc, or connect a mouse and monitor to the device.

@FixTheBone, sorry I've only just seen your reply!

Thank you for your suggestions. I can't seem to find a monitor specifically for those systems. Are there some that you know of that are definitely compatible?

If they've got an HDMI socket you can literally plug and TV or Computer monitor straight in.

Some have a D-SUB or 'VGA' connector which a lot of monitors and TVs have, but by no means all.

We have Google nest cameras which do this - they report on any action and show it on the Google hub (as well as on the app). the hubs are small screens like size of a kindle which we have in the kitchen.
