samsung or ipad

Hi
Just trying to research what tablet to buy? I have a very old ipad which doesn't support most apps now so pretty useless.
My phone is a Samsung and I can see Samsung tablets have a range of prices. All I need a tablet for is watching netflix, bbciplayer etc and to see photos on.
Is the £329 ipad any good or would the Samsung tab a7 be OK? Don't want to spend much more than 300 and would rather spend less if I can but don't want to waste my money either.

Depends what other devices you use - I have Apple in terms of phone and laptop so I’m team iPad all the way as I use airdrop between devices a lot and draw on my iPad

I’ve got an older (5th gen) version of that iPad and it really is excellent.

My daughter is like you and has Samsung phone but if she needs a tablet for anything she borrowed one of our iPads. She’s just had a 2 in one laptop or we also looked into Surfaces but they are ££.

If you literally will just use it for reading ebooks or watching Netflix the Samsung looks like an excellent alternative to a kindle. But for anything else I’d go for the iPad.
