Good gaming monitors and other periferals

Hi Folks,

I'm wanting to get some periferals for my DH's new gaming PC. I want a monitor that's 1080p - not more than that since lag can be an issue. I also want a sturdy gaming mouse and a rugged keyboard (he can't touch-type - he pecks so it needs to be sturdy)

ALso a reliable headset with mike would be useful too. Thanks!

Any idea what size screen DH might want. I can recommend AOC monitors. I have 2 and picture quality is good. Not quite sure what you mean about lag - is it response time you're referring to?

I've got AOC now - in terms of lag this can be an issue with monitors of higher resolution than 1080p in that it makes the graphics cards work harder and hence consumes more RAM.

Thanks for your help so far.

If you’re asking for personal recommendations, I can’t help on individual devices.

My go to online store for all things PC and gaming is

www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/monitors/101/161/336/487/2308

That link should take you to their standard monitor range.

Ive never heard of monitor refresh rate impacting the graphics card, particularly increased memory consumption, do you have a link for that, I’d love to learn more about that.

I was wondering about that too. What graphics card is in the machine. I suppose it's possible if OP is using on-board graphics or if there's only 4gb ram, but that really wouldn't be a gaming machine.
I did find this techguided.com/how-much-does-ram-affect-fps/
