Computer speaker making funny noise

It's driving me mad. When it's not in use, one speaker makes an intermittent noise.
Any ideas how to solve this please ?

I’m assuming these are physical speakers separate from the computer.
With power going to one speaker then the power cable going from that one speaker to the other.
And the same path with the audio cable.

Besides the standard advice to unplug / replug connections, checking for dirt, rust while you do, I’d also ask if recently, near the speaker that’s playing up, there’s been any new electrical equipment placed, possibly on the other side of the wall?

Try a pair of headphones and see if you get the same result. If it disappears you have a faulty cable or speakers. If it remains then try uninstalling then re-install the sound drivers.
Last resort - fit a cheap sound card.

Yes its a Windows 10 PC with separate speakers. Will try those suggestions. Thanks
