Windows XP won't let me into add/remove programs......

Yes, I am Administrator.
I ran AVG a few weeks ago for the first time. It found 7 Trojan horses and a virus.
Since installing that I've had the problem of not getting into Add/remove programmes.

I think I'll have to go to a computer expert with it, cos I'm stumped.

I was afraid you might say that -
a friend of mine had the same problem.

Norty chap had been surfing sans protection
and caught some vile viruses and trojans.
Part of the system admin features, including
add/remove, was locked.

There was only one solution:
wipe the hard drive and reinstall everything.

Did AVG get rid of the nasties on your PC?

AVG did indeed get rid of nasties.
We originally had Norton, which is pants.
Only found out about problem when I wanted to uninstall Norton from 'puter.

Got an update on the Super Anti-spyware that allowed me to repair the problem!!
