any suggestions for computer freezing

Desk top computer used for home schooling on windows 10 freezes at least once a day (usually after morning break - when it has been left unused for 20 minutes). We have been switching off the power when that happens. I am not technical and not sure what to do so would really appreciate any suggestions. Unless of course I have damaged the computer turning the power off whilst it has frozen. Thank you

Yes keep holding the on/off button and eventually it will turn off.

This might force the PC into recognising something is wrong when you turn it on again.

When it's NOT frozen do a re-start. Check for updates. That sort of thing.

Pressing and holding the power button is a hard reboot. You may get the option to turn on in safe mode.

When it is working google the problem and start working through the steps.

Please don't turn it off at the plug. That's a bad idea.

It could be a sign that there's some failing hardware. Back everything up next time you can.

This looks a good step-by-step

When mine did this it was because some of the RAM was damaged. I bought new ram from ebay now it works perfectly.

I'm quite techy but there are easy YouTube vids that will show you how to check the RAM
