Magnetic charging cables - do they work?

No matter whether we buy Apple charging cables or the licensed corded cables, they always seem to stop working - and I think the connector port is the issue. I've been getting ads for magnetic chargers recently - the kind that come with a small fitting that sits permanently in the port and connects to the cable with a magnet which would possibly solve the problem but DH is worried the magnet might damage the iPad - has anyone used them, and if so, are they worth it?

We've all got them for our (android) phones. So do my Mum and brother and SIL. We've had no issues with them.

That's reassuring @WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo - thank you. Has anyone used them with Apple stuff? I find iPads more pernickety than Android when it comes to chargers.

Not Apple but...
They work brilliantly until the magnet comes off Sad my Dad loves them but do buy quality.

I thought I'd love them but have ended up losing the little bit that plugs into the device when I've taken it out to use a normal charger for a bit.

Also they spent most of the time not charging because the magnetic part wasn't properly aligned or had fallen off.

I've ended up getting a phone with wireless charging but I don't know if Apple stuff has that and if it does then I expect it's eyewateringly pricy.

Could your port be dirty? My Android stopped charging on a cable and a good clean out (with a pin/paperclip followed by a dental brush dipped in alcohol) did the trick.
