Need help with my desktop, if anyone would be so kind!

I'm not very good at the techinical side of things or the terminology, so bare with me!

I have a white square on the top left hand corner of my desktop! The rest of the screen has the XP picture on it, but for some reason, the top left hand corner is missing. The icons are showing, so thats not a problem, but I can't get it back to how it should be.

It happened when I downloaded the Ikea kitchen planner for some reason.

Any ideas what its all about!

Right click on your desktop.

Select Properties from the menu.

Click on the desktop tab on the top of the grey box.

Select the 'position' box (on the right hand side) and from the drop-down box select 'stretch'.

That should do the trick.

I reckon your desktop picture is on tile.

Thanks LSA, but no, its not on tile. If you can imagine a jigsaw with just the top left hand corner peice missing, thats what it looks like.

Try changing the background image to something else. Is it still there then? Have you Rebooted?
