Need some help - Hard Drive problems

Hiya,

I've got the hard-drive from my old laptop (which broke), and really want to get some photos off there.

Is it as easy as simply placing that drive into this laptop I'm using - not same make though. Or, do I need to send it somewhere, like PC World (which I really don't want to due to the cost!)

Thanks

I expect you need a Drive Case, which allows you to connect the drive using USB.

What type of case specifically, will depend on what the drive you have is - what size it is physically 2.5", 3.5" and data interface type.

Here is an example... a case for 2.5" IDE drive.

I've replaced a laptop hard-drive, and it really is a case of sliding out the old and sliding in the new. There is probably a retaining screw or some kind of lock.
