OpenDNS Help!

Can anyone talk me through how to use this? I am technically challenged.

I have created an account and set it up with the public IP address but it isn't showing me any subsequent searches.

You need to set your PC or your router (the latter is better) to use OpenDNS. If you would like to say which router you've got I might be able to help.

Thanks @prh47bridge It's a Plusnet so I don't think I can do it that way.

If you are using the Plusnet router I'm afraid you can't really use OpenDNS. You could set it up on each PC but mobile phones and other devices that connect to your wifi wouldn't be affected. Plusnet have their own SafeGuard service that does a similar job to Open DNS. Alternatively, you could use another router that will give you more control.

Thanks so much @prh47bridge - perhaps I'll look into using Plusnet's then. How would I find that? (Yes, I really am that much of a Luddite!) 😏

I'm not a Plusnet user so I've taken this from their help pages.

Go to the Plusnet member centre (www.plus.net/member-centre/login) and login. You will find the Plusnet SafeGuard control panel there (if you can't find it, it is apparently at www.plus.net/my-account/safeguard/). Once you are there you click the On/Off button at the top of the screen.
