I have had Norton Internet Security for three years and have found it effective, albeit on the enthusiastic side for a home computer (but I do my business stuff on it as well, so it makes sense).
Recently had a free upgrade from 2007 model to 2008. The interface is completely different and doesn't appear to have any obvious way of customising/configuring. The anti-virus, firewall etc. are are still excellent, but the email bothers me. Lots of stuff which isn't spam comes through flagged as such, and I get lots of spam which I never used to get - obviously fake bank and Paypal stuff, holiday offers, supposed supermarket vouchers, as well as the people who for some reason think I need a new penis and/or would like to transfer some money into a Nigerian account.
Obviously I delete it all unread. But the thing is, we never got any of this with Norton 2007. I got maybe one spam message a month, if that. These days I get a good few a day. Anyone else found the same?
