Lost videos from iPhone - sentimental baby ones

Hi

I have an iPhone 7plus 128 it has developed a fault meaning the speaker function no longer works and I have had to get another iPhone. The new one is only 32 so I knew I had to delete some photos etc to get the transfer to take place.

So I had dutifully backed up to iTunes on my laptop, thought I had also backed up to iCloud and to be extra sure I transferred all photos into a hard drive. I then started to delete photos etc to clear space. It would appear I have deleted all videos and they are not in the recently deleted section on my old iPhone (I'm yet to fully transfer to the new one).

Panicking I went into iCloud - no sign of my videos. I then went onto iTunes to restore my phone to the last backup - all seemed to be going well it took 2 hours to process (I do have a lot of photos) but then right at the end it says "can not restore".

I am at a loss is there any hope for me finding these videos I am sure they must be on the iTunes backup at the very least but I have no idea where I can simply go into to pull them out.

Can anyone help? I am devastated that these precious memories may be lost for good.

Many thanks 🙏🏻

If all else has failed then you could try a free file recovery tool such as the one from Easus. The downside of the free software is it only recovers one video/photo at a time but at least you can see if recovery is possible. www.easeus.com/mobile-tool/free-iphone-data-recovery.html
I have used Easus products on PCs and they do seem to work reasonable well.
Another site to try is Stellar - tinyurl.com/y2hx2gml.
The free software only allows you to see what is recoverable and you'll have to purchase the product to actually retrieve anything. Costs about £40.
Best of luck.

Similar thing happened to me. I accidentally deleted an important photo. My phone wasn’t updated so there was no deleted file. I tried everything to get it back. Downloaded software etc. But nothing worked. I learnt my lesson. Now I just put everything on a cd/memory stick as well as computer. I find the whole Icloud thing confusing and you have to pay for more storage I believe. I don’t know whether you can get them back I’m sure someone who knows their tech will have advice.

@species5618 thank you I've had a look at those I have a call with Apple tech support tomorrow so I'm wary to do anything before that but afterwards I have nothin to lose if they can't find them! Thank you

@oceanbreezy thank you - I agree and I thought I had by backing up the phone to both iTunes and iCloud I had also downloaded all the photos onto a separate hard drive I thought the videos were there as well but I was wrong.

@species5618 THANK YOU I've just had my "tech support" call with Apple 1 hour and 45 minutes and no actual help 🤦🏻‍♀️. They assured me the videos should be in iCloud as I have backed up but they couldn't find them - they gave me a "fix" and hung up. Nothing was fixed. However at that point I decided nothing more to be lost and I have tried Easeus- amazing it's currently scanning and has found all of the baby videos 👶🏻 I am sitting here crying with happiness thank you so much for your help 💐💐

That's great news. I think you have to recover them one at a time with the free version. Hope they all get recovered, so let us know if it's sucessful.
