Stupid question - photos on IPhone

This is a very stupid question, but I haven't been able to work it out.

I want to organise my photos into folders. I can make the new folder, & copy the photo across but the original stays in the main photo reel.

Is there a way to move the original photo into the new folder? Or keep the copy in the new folder & delete the original?

I want to tidy my main reel, not create a ton of duplicates.

Not a stupid question ...I'd like to know too! I've always been worried about deleting the main reel incase it also deletes the pic in the folder! Watching with interest to hope someone else comes along with the answer ..

Hi I had the same plan - from everything I've read you can't do it the photos remain on the main reel however I live in hope some MN phone expert may have the answer!

Just to explain, when you put a photo in a folder, it doesn't move there, the folder contains a link back to the original photo.

So delete or hide the main photo, and the same thing happens to the one in the folder.

There may be a way to do it but, I haven't found it as yet, sorry.
