Projector Setup

Does anyone have a sweet projector setup they can recommend?

Our TV/consoles unit is to the side of our fireplace, but we would like to project a screen above it. To link with the current consoles, we’re thinking we’d have to run cables under the floor and place the projector on a shelf on the back wall? We have an Edinburgh Press (cupboard) on the other side of the fireplace, but annoyingly it’s too shallow to use for the consoles.

Any tips gratefully received!

How big is the space? Up to about 55/65 inches diagonal you'd probably be better with an oled TV, some of the new LG oled ones are incredibly thin, and the price won't be much different to a projector, amp and speaker setup.

If you're going for a proper cinema feel, you want to get the brightest projector you can afford, a dolby atmos amplifier and a decent set of speakers...

Personally, I'd ceiling mount the projector which also gives you the opportunity to run speaker cables etc in the ceiling and use concealed speakers if you'd prefer that. You'd need a ceiling with joists and boards above it to do it easily though....

It'd help to have a budget in mind, as you can literally go from £200 - £200,000 quite easily.
