Firewire

I have got a jvc camcorder and as is my usual way have lost the manual. Need to get a firewire, any ideas what? I got a 4.4 one under advice from local tecchie shop which looks like will fit camcorder but no idea where the other end goes in pc?? Nothing seems the right size. Is a brand new pc if that's any help with 2 bits at thr front to connect something , no idea what as well as normal usbs

Not sure about new pcs but, when we needed a firewire we had to go and buy one, it's like a card with connectors attached to it. Thought the new pcs had usb's built in?

yes, it has usb ports but the firewire I have been sold is the same at both ends ie the size to fit the camcorder and I cant see where this would fit on the pc? It's not got a usb end.

its got a firewire end not usb end. shaped a bit like a cucumber - one end rounded although similar to a usb port. you'll need to get a firewire card for your pc. it is a pc not a laptop?

you insert the card into the back of the pc where you will have free slots. you'll need a screwdriver!
