Eye-contact in video-calling

With all the remote interviews on tv now, I notice how some people seem to manage eye-contact via video-calling. Are they looking at their computer camera (rather than looking at the other person), or do they have some bit of kit I don't know about?

They are looking at the camera.

The daft thing about looking at the camera is if both parties do that they're not looking at each other, so might as well just have a phone convo instead!
