I'm with virvin media. When I signed up a year ago it was £27 a month going to £49 after 12 months. So I'm coming up to the 12 months and want to cancel and start a new package. Do I just call them up and say this? They have the same offer on now if that helps.

If your old provider is Virgin Media then yes, you'll need to let them know that you're leaving and it's up to you to coordinate the end of one contract and the start of another. If you're currently with another provider that uses the Openreach network as BT does (this is everyone listed on Cable other than Virgin and Hyperoptic) then BT will do the contacting on your behalf.

Virgin Media will probably offer you a tempting rate to stay.

They don't want you to leave.

But yes you just have to phone up and give your 30 days notice.

That was easy. They just matched it for another 12 months. Thanks for your help!
