Recommendations for video editing software

We've just got a lovely new HDD video camera - so pleased with it and are building up a big stash of mini movies but now looking for some easy to use software for editing. I like Microsoft digital image suite for still images - is there an equivilent for videos? or any other good software?

Don't know about Microsoft, but we use Ulead Videostudio for editing our videos.
We've got version 8.
It's the only program I've ever used, but I find it user friendly and we can get pretty good results.
