Xbox or Nintendo switch

My 8yo would like a games console - unsure of which one to get any help appreciated

My kids have Xbox PS4 and switch and switch wins every time. Only problem is I’ve had to take them to have the charging port changed as easily damaged.
I find also that although the switch games are small they arnt as easily damaged as Xbox discs are. One scratch can ruin the game

Dc1 has the xbox. Parental controls are in place. He loves it. Game range is limited for his age group compared to Nintendo who have always aimed to make their games more family friendly. (think their scariest range is the Castlevania series which really isn't that bad)
