Surface Pro 4 problem

My daughter got a surface pro 4 from her dad a few months ago. It was hardly used and he upgraded. Today she was playing a game, sims 4 and the screen froze. She switched it off and now it wont do anything. We have tried hard reset and waited. it doesnt do anything. We put it away and found it had got hot so looks like its switched on but the screen is black. Any advice? thanks

When was it purchased?

They are notorious for issues with overheating. I had one and have now replaced it with the surface laptop.

Sorry that doesn't help does it - is it still under warranty?

Once it's cooled down try resetting again

its about 2 years old so assume out of warrante. ive left it and tried all the resets and still dead! quite an expensive paperweight!

It's nearly impossible to diagnose what happened. When you switched it on does it make any noise and then stops or is there no sound from it?
