iPhone 5 update warnings - do they apply to the 5SE?

My dad has an iPhone 5se and he finds it's stressful with any changes now.

There seem to be lots of articles today anything that iPhone 5 users must update the software on their home by the 3rd November or the phone will stop working (?)

Does anyone know if this applies to the 5se too? (We live a long distance away so I'll need to try and explain it to him on the phone.)

Unclear. Looks like just the 5, as it lists 4s as a separate in older devices list. Personally I am going to update my 5s just incase.

I've tried updating my dd but can't go higher than 10.3.3
I rang apple support & got told not to worry if that's all that is available then thenter phone will be OK.
We will see on sat if that's true!

I have an SE. With A LOT of photos on it. I can't update because I don't have enough space on the phone I hope it doesn't stop working now!

The iPhone SE isn't a 5 so shouldn't be affected.
