Accounting software help!

What accounting software can you recommend for a small limited company? I’ve heard there’s something you can upload receipts to - is there something that I could upload my bank statements to and it would populate a spreadsheet?

I’vee my accounts by hand for years and I’ve had enough. Is there something idiot proof that will make my life easier?

Most banks allow you to download statements as spreadsheet files.

Xero is a good online accounting system. I went over to this fro the old SageLine 50. It can connect up with your bank, is compatible with MTD (online VAT submission) and your accountants can access it to complete your end of year. Easy to use and reasonably priced (monthly subscription)

Xero

You can link it to the bank

You can also attaché receipts your transactions

And you can use receipt bank or similar to upload receipts if you want

Pandle. Simple to use and has bank feed function. It's supplied to me free by my firm of accountants

I use FreeAgent - fantastic bit of software - allows you to photograph and upload receipts etc. There is a monthly cost, but you currently get it for free if you open a NatWest or RBS business bank account (the cost of those accounts run at about £5/ month so well worth it).
