Ive lost all my numbers on Vodafone SIM card ! Please help!

I lent my Motorola mobile to mu husband to put his SIM card in it. Now that I've put my SIM back in it, Ive lost all my phone numbers & messages. Where have they gone? Everything else works but the memory on the SIM seems to have gone, IYSWIM

I really don't understand as Ive taken my SIM in & out before & this didnt happen.

Does anyone know how to fix this?? OR have I lost them forever?

BTW we're both on Vodafone.

were they saved to the phone, and when he put his SIM in, it has wiped the memory?

Ive still got the numbers that were saved to the phone but not the ones saved to the SIM.

I thought that you could put your SIM in any other (Vodafone) phone & you could see your numbers & texts etc.
