I’ve had an ongoing problem in that I can receive emails from home and email accounts to my iphone, but I can’t send any – every time I get a message saying that an error has occurred, with no further information. I have just changed it to show a different email address as the default, but that hasn’t made any difference.
My google researches led me to lots of information about syncing accounts, but I think my account must be synced otherwise I wouldn't be able to receive emails. Other links tell me to look at the information about the outgoing and incoming servers, but my phone (iPhone8) doesn't give me that option - it just says "Server" and has the correct address for that on.
Has anyone come across this or know how to deal with it? Or should I just take it to an Apple helpdesk?
