Adobe Photoshop... anyone know how to use it? Quick question.....

Sorry, I have an ancient edition of photoshop and I'm trying to manipulate a photograph. I want to cut a bit out of the photograph and paste it somewhere else, but I need a scalpel tool that doesn't cut only in rectangles. I know you can do it, but I'm damned if I know how! Can anyone help? Thank you!

I have version 7. In the tools section (usually on left hand side) there is a lasso tool. It is below the rectangular marquee tool which is probably the one you are referring to. This will allow you to select any shaped area which you can then cut and paste elsewhere.
