Anyone used one of these to replace their home broadband router? It would save about £200 a year

Our internet speeds through the telephone line are rubbish so Id be pleased to get rid Our 4g coverage in this area is good. But i am worried whether one hotspot will work in the whole house. Anyone tried it?

That's a 3G device. The average download speed is 6.1Mb/second. 4G is better - 15.1Mb/second. It is unlikely that 3G will be faster than your telephone line. 4G might be but there are no guarantees. The average speed over the telephone line in the UK is around 50Mb/second. If you aren't sure what speed you are getting, you can get a figure from www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk. If you are getting slow speeds you may be better off looking at why that is rather than looking to do something like this.

When calculating the savings, don't forget that you will need a SIM card for the device with enough data to cover your usage.
