....does this mean it is laying unharmed in the grassy verge rather than having been smashed to smithereens and run over by a tractor? I'm desperate to get it back (sweet photos of DSs on it )and intend to walk some of my route later today. If voicemail is working does that mean the phone works too is or is the voicemail on the network rather than the phone?

No, the voicemail is on the network, not the phone. It could be going straight through because the phone's run out of battery, or because it's broken, I'm afraid. Hope you find it.

If it goes straight to voicemail it is off. The voicemail is on the network. It could just be a dead battery?

Phone your network and tell them, I think they can track mobiles (but it probably needs to be on).

Voicemail is on the network.......
Re-walk your route, pay special attention to corners etc, but I'm afraid I wouldn't hold out too much hope, although the SIM card might be okay.

Voicemail is on the network afaik. Hope you find the phone.

I don't know, afaik voicemail services are done via the network.

It could be anything - the battery could simply be flat or it could be smashed up

Oh bum - it was newly charged and switched on so it sounds like it's probably broken but it would be good to rescue the SIM card if I can. Will give T-mobile a call. Thanks all xx
