Please help - I can't delete anything from my PC

And I mean anything - emails, Word documents &c &c. It's not the delete button gone wrong, 'cos even when I scroll 'file' 'delete' it won't delete anything. Any ideas, anyone? Flylady emails drove H nuts at the best of times but hundreds of them are sitting unopened in our inbox it is putting more of a strain on our relationship than we need ....... What have we done wrong? Have we done anything wrong? Do we need to get a man in?

can you empty your recycle bin?
try that then try deleting

Right Click on the mouse...scroll to delete and click. Wala Hopefully.
