Why isn't my iPhone talking to the iPad ?

Am the least techy person ever so please be patient with my explanation and if you can explain to me in very simple terms that would be fab

Up until last week if I googled on my phone then when I went on the laptop if I looked at history my iPhone googling would be there .

Now it's not !

Any ideas gratefully received

Check handoff is on in both things. I think that’s what’s it’s called
