Mobile tel query

Just a quick query. I sent a contact (tradesperson) a text to the number they gave me. But the response to the text came from a different mobile number to the one I sent it to. Their response did not come up with my original text, it was just their response.

I am assuming they have two mobile numbers which they access from the same handset?

Or credit on a different phone maybe?

Odd. They would have had to type my number in a new handset rather than just responding to my original text.

I have a friend with two phones, one for work and one for freinds and some work.

So would my text be received by both phones even though they are different numbers?

It's quite possible to have two SIM cards in a phone so he might have that and just replied to you using the wrong aim
