Tell me about 3d printers

DS really wants one! Are they worth the money?

IMO not for home use yet. The materials used are a little weak. Do you have a school or college nearby that has one? Get your Ds to download his drawings as a can't remember file and ask if they will print it out. They may charge a token amount.

There's a shop near me where they do scans and then print 3D figures of the scans in different sizes. It's getting cheaper everyday and I feel tempted to have my DC printed out in playmobil size.
