Using an alias in Yahoo

My university provides a lifelong e-mail address. I added it to my yahoo account ages ago. I don't know whether it has always done this, or whether something has changed in yahoo, but if I send an e-mail it uses my yahoo address to send it, if I reply to an e-mail, it uses my alias. Does anyone know how to fix it so that it uses my alias all the time? I have tryed everything I can think of in settings, but must have missed something. Thank you!

Are you using webmail (i.e. the Yahoo website), Outlook or something else?

prh47bridge Thanks for replying. The Yahoo website. I have looked up how to do it on google, but the instructions don't match the list of settings that I have.

I was hoping you were going to say you used Outlook! If you did I could answer the question.

Yahoo's instructions for doing what you want are at uk.help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN5823.html

Unfortunately I don't have a Yahoo email account so I can't test these instructions.

Thank you prh47bridge - I think you have cracked it - whenever I searched, it was for a different version of yahoo (an older one), but this actually matched what I could see.
