Noteability or Goodnotes?

I want a note taking app - I’ve narrowed it down to one of these - which one is best?

Also. Do I need an Apple Pencil or will a compatible one do?

I've used both. For me I prefer how goodnotes lets you organise your notes - it just suits the way my mind works better but both are fantastic.

Can't really help much with the stylus as I use Apple pencil (gen 1 with my 9.7 2018 iPad and gen 2 with my pro model).
