Can anyone advise me on this please? I have just gone on my Fb profile and deleted 60 friends who have accepted friend requests from me which i definitely didn't send. Most are people I've never heard of, but some are service users from work, I would be in a shedload of trouble if I had friend requested them. Thankfully my Fb profile isn't in my real name but it's still freaking me out, Fb help is no help at all, can anyone tell me what's going on please?

Your profile has been hacked. Share a post telling your friends this and apologising for any weird activity, then change your password ASAP!

That is very weird! Bumping for you. Could a service user have hacked your account?

FWIW a service user once told a psychiatrist that He was the father of my child and then shared a load of photos of my dead brother and daughter on his profile. He was not my friend on Facebook but it made me realise I needed to revise my privacy settings! He was psychotic of course and genuinely believed it. It was not true though of course. But it was quite distressing at the time.

I think social media can be very dangerous for people who are unwell and lack capacity. They can do their own and other peoples reputation a lot of damage very easily without realising what they are doing.

Thanks all, I've changed my password and checked my security settings, hope that does the trick. it's really weird because there's no way I can think of that a service user from my work could associate my F b name with me, it's purposely not connected to my real name and I'm not Fb friends with any work colleagues to avoid anything like this happening. No idea what's gone on. Flowers Twistin that must have been nightmarish

Have you synced your phone contacts or similar by accident maybe? I've almost done that a few times.

nothingcomestonothing · 15/03/2019 11:20

Hi no, I've never accessed my Fb page on my work phone so I can't have done that. it's really weird

Close your facebook account entirely. It is very liberating

My Fb presence is honestly so boring, I'm just on a couple of local groups sharing school closures and roadworks and other thrilling stuff, it's baffling that anyone would bother to interfere with it. I don't post pic of my DCs, anything about my life really, what's the gain in messing with it Confused
