Laptop Keyboard & Mouse Pad Problem ~ please help

I was very nuaghty and sneakily borrowed my DS laptop, while using it the power went and it turned off when I rebooted neither the mouse pad or keyboard work. Anyone any ideas, have a inadvertedly knocked a button, Please help,

have you shut down and restarted since? That's always the first thing to try as it may have failed to initialise the last time.

I have shut down and rstarted a few times since and still nothing.
