Virius Protection

I have always used McAfee Total Protection and been happy with it. Get a bit irritated when the time comes to renew, and they try to charge me more than the price I can buy it elsewhere.. So I always ring up and moan and they match the market price... So I reckon I can get 5 devices covered for £16 ish this year.

Just wondered if I am paying needlessly. What virus protection would you recommend ? Especially if its less then £16 pa!

Assuming you're on Windows, I'd recommend Windows Defender and Malwarebytes. Throw in uBlock Origin as an ad-blocker for your browser and you should be good to go.

If you are running Windows 10, the Windows Defender pretty much has everything covered - malware, virus, firewall, ransomware. Should be good enough without having to pay anything.

Windows Defender is good but it isn't the best. Some others offer better protection, better performance and better usability. McAfee is currently one of the best. I would also look at Avast, which is also one of the best and is free.
