Has anyone used Word 2007? Where on earth is the "Save As" option? The help just tells you what it does, I need to know where it IS!
TIA sorry for the rant

under file - top left hand corner - somewhere near save.

Katy44 · 04/07/2007 14:14

Are you sure? This is 2007 and doesn't have the same menus

Home
Insert
Page Layout
References

etc

Have figured out where most of the other stuff is, even tried to customise the buttons but it just isn't there!!

Got it - the stupid flashing icon in the top left hand corner which doesn't look like anything is now the 'File' menu
Thanks

You can add it to the shortcuts at the top too katy.

See the drop down at the side of the 'save' shortcut top left. Click and then go in 'more commands' and add. I thought it was odd that it doesn't even appear in most used commands - doesn't everyone use it???

Well, I've had this Office 2007 for months now and only just found out that the icon is 'file'.

BTW no-one can open my documents when I email them so you may need to find the downloads page on Microsoft to send people the link. It isn't backards compatible you see.....look I've learnt a new term by being forced into being cutting edge by wiping hard drive.

Thank you!! I was in that menu the other day (the More Commands one) but for sme reason couldn't see it, I saw "Save as Template", "Save as Chicken" and the 1000s of other Save As, but must have just been blind.
Can't believe other people can't open it! Thanks for letting me know, might just try to avoid the situation, but I'm glad you told me as I've got some important stuff coming up (assignment etc) and I'd hate to realise at the last minute.

Might go and add everything I need to use now, before I forget how to get to that menu

I am sitting here giggling to myself that the icon is the file dropdown!! Honestly i never would have guessed - wait til I show DP!!

Katy44 · 04/07/2007 14:42

Do you think they've tried to make it more "web"-y? After all the main menu now is "Home" m- "File", would never do!
I have to say - you're easily pleased

Well I'm really bored and avoiding work hence drifting thorugh MN! Better apply myself before I have to pick the kids up.

GeekBoy · 04/07/2007 15:21

errm.. ..and something like
Ctrl+Shift+S will do the trick... ...saves buggering about with a mouse as well...

Katy44 · 04/07/2007 15:23

That brought up "Apply Styles" but I'll have a hunt around for the shortcut as it would be handy, thanks.
ll, I know how that feels

On that drop down arrow go to 'choose commands from' drop down to All Commands and it's there after save and save all....press add and then reset (I think).

GeekBoy · 04/07/2007 15:56

My bad - shortcut for Save As is F12....

Katy44 · 04/07/2007 16:01

Thanks
