Printer problem

My printer is skipping lines of text or making some lines come out blurred.

Could this be because:

  1. because the black ink cartridge is low (although not out yet)
  2. the roller thingies (technical term - I suspect not) that feed the paper through need cleaning?
  3. something else?

Any ideas on a solution. The printer is quite new so should (!) be working ok in theory.

It sounds like it might be dirty - an obstruction on the roller could make it skip/blur. You should have a head cleaning program on the printer - try running that, then run a test print - if it's still blurring, then (if you can access them) try and see if there is anything on the rollers.

Thanks - very useful and I will try that

Can't find the head cleaning program mentioned in the manual....any thoughts - where might the button be to start this - on the control panel or elsewhere?
