Camera v Huawei p20

If there's any photography enthusiasts maybe you could help me please. Iv got an Huawei p20 which I love taking photos with. I bought it for the camera.

I have a Christmas gift of a camera which my husband thought I would love but I think my phone might be better. It's a canon power shot sx430is.

I feel so bad I think I might need to return it. Some advice please. Merry Christmas.

The Huawei is probably pretty good, but where the Powershot will win is when you need zoom. The Powershot has 45x optical zoom, whereas phone camers only have "digital zoom" which is really just magnifying the inner area of the picture, so the quality of zoomed pictures is severely reduced.

I'd get a proper dslr if you're into photography. I don't use mine that much but do love it & have a few shoots of dc through the year. Mine is 9 years old & I treated myself to a 30mm prime lens 7 years ago which I love for portraits.

I'd say return it if you think you'd like clearer/better shots

Thankyou. I think I would be better to return it and if I really want to get into photography as you say get a big dslr when Iv saved up a bit. My sister has a big dslr and she can't believe the quality of the photos on the Huawei.

DSLR every time. Even an older one is better.
