Apple Watch Series 4 - is it worth it?

DH is buying me an Apple Watch for my birthday. For those who already have one, can you tell me if it was a good buy?

And also, what colour? I have no idea!
I rarely wear jewellery, and i will be wearing it on my right wrist.

I'm thinking either the black or rose gold 40mm. Hmm

DH thinks the black. I've seen lots of mums in baby groups I go to wear the rose gold/pink strap though.

TIA

I have a series 2. Unless you are going to use the watch independently of your phone I can't understand why anyone would need a 3 or 4. I love it though, it's a fab device for fitness. Mine is the silver one and I have a couple of straps, they are easy to change.

The 38 is large enough, I would go to the Apple shop and try one against your wrist.

I had a 2, didn't use it much and gave it away. I find the daily charging an absolute pita. I did consider another one and looked at the 4 a few weeks ago. They are not all cellular so not all a phone replacement.

Anyway, I decided against it. Fitbit's charge lasts for a week and I think I am going to go for a waterproof Fitbit (have a charge 2 might go for charge 3).

Until Apple make the battery life longer I don't think I will bother.

I've got the 2. The smaller screen is fine. If I get another smartwatch I'd get a fit bit one next time. Apple Watch is nice but over priced.

Hmm. So It's not really worth it? Anyone here who loves their Apple Watch??

I had a 2 after years of having various fitbits. Used it for a while but now use a Fitbit versa which is better in my opinion, but I suppose it depends what you'd use it for. My Apple Watch went to DH who loves it

I love my Apple Watch 3, it was a Christmas present last year. I use it mainly for step counting and swimming but it’s on all the time so it’s also interesting to see things like heart rate. I have the cellular version so I get all my messages and calis to it, really handy. Also talks to my work calendar so gives me alerts for my next meeting and I can check the details like location without having to carry my phone.
I have the smaller screen as I have tiny wrists and I have it in black.

I got a series 4 a few weeks ago. Never saw the point in it before I got one. DH has a series 2. Got the 40mm one (the smaller of the two. Got it in silver and got the white sports band. I got the sports band because I have issues with my arms so they can swell slightly and this one has a lot more adjustability and it's doesn't get icky when sweating.

I love it. It helps me track what I'm doing. Also downloaded the water app so I drink more. I look at my phone less as I used it for the time. It also helps push me to do more with the activity rings.

I absolutely adore mine. I've got a 42mm in silver.

Do check that you can still get it in rose gold - I think they only come in gold after the series 2; which looks pink in some lights but definitely isn't most of the time! I loved my rose gold one; but hated the gold one.

I adore my Apple Watch 4g, it’s just so useful. Can just glance at my notifications, I’m able to show my train tickets on it, set timers etc. It’s great when using Apple maps, my wrist will buzz when I’m coming up to a turning. I can change the song when running without getting my phone out. It’s useful, it doesn’t bother me to charge it. I take mine off to sleep, and just stick it on the charger.

malovitt · 20/11/2018 16:54

I love mine - one of the best bits for me is having your debit card on it so you can go through the barriers on the tube/bus without having to faff around in your bag getting your purse/ Oyster card out.
Ditto answering calls/seeing texts.
I wouldn't be without mine.
