New IPhone - 8 or X

Hi. Could someone help me with a decision please? My contract is nearly up and my iPhone 6 is giving me trouble (battery not lasting and it's getting very slow).

Should I get an 8 or a X? Is the iPhone X worth the extra cost?

If I sign a 24 month contract will the iPhone 8 be obsolete at the end of the 2 years?

I don't want to make a mistake as it's a fair amount of money . It's my birthday and Christmas present.

Just got the Xs last week after having a 7+ . A good upgrade I have to say! My choice was made on the camera, it generally is.

In two years neither of your options with be obsolete however

The X may come in slightly cheaper as it isn’t available from apple, only reputable retailers, it has been replaced with the Xs

I have the 8+ and am really pleased with it. Can't use DH's X!
Keep an eye out on Very, they seem to do lots of Apple deals, I got mine last year with 20% cash back & interest free payments for a year!

I got the XR this week, replacing my 6, and I’m very pleased with it. The screen is bigger than the 8, which I like, and it has Face ID instead of a home button with fingerprint recognition, which I’m finding very easy to use (my iPhone 6 tended to be pretty picky about recognising my print, and I had to re-register it a few times). It’s also very quick, though in that I’m comparing it to my old 6 rather than the 8.

Also the XR comes in nice colours (I got the red one)

I just got an 8 because it was half the price of an XR and smaller. Happy so far 😊
