It comes up with a list of everything I have ever typed into google. I am not the only person who uses this computer - sometimes the neighbours and my sister use it. I don't want them to know what I do!

How can I wipe this info out?

is it google toolbar?

have you cleared the history?

SoupDragon · 15/06/2007 20:18

Internet Exlporer: click in theempty google box and kind of hover the mouse over the first item int he list. Whenit's blue, hit delete and hold it down - the whole list will delete one by one, quickly.

SoupDragon · 15/06/2007 20:18

With Firefox it's shift + Delete.

nannyogg · 15/06/2007 20:20

Do you mean when you click in the search bar and a list appears underneath?

If so you can move your mouse down over it to select (or highlight) each search term and simply delete.

There may be a way in Internet options as well - I'll investigate...

colditz · 15/06/2007 20:20

Wow thanks! Didn't even notice there was a clear history option[technophobe]

There's an option to clear something to do with forms IIRC. Properties, Content, Personal Inf, Autocomplete....

AttilaTheMum · 15/06/2007 20:21

This page shows various ways to get rid of history/autocomplete in the google toolbar as well as the main Google page (at the bottom of the page)and the address bar.

SoupDragon · 15/06/2007 20:22

IIRC,clearing your history won't get rid of the stuff int he Google search bar.

musicianswidowAKAmumofmonsters · 15/06/2007 20:23

on the google home page at the top right of the screen there are some options. is one of them igoogle?

southeastastra · 15/06/2007 20:26

oh ta soupdragon didn't know you could do that. (why was i googling potato remedies?)

colditz · 15/06/2007 20:33

so what about that bar where i type in addresses of websites?

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 15/06/2007 20:36

The address bar should be cleared when you clear the history. I have my internet options set to clear the history after 0 days so it disappears whenever I close IE/Firefox.

bookwormmum · 15/06/2007 20:38

read this

Boredveryverybored · 15/06/2007 20:40

I delete google searches by just highlighting each one right clicking and delete. Is a pain if there's loads there but I do it every few days or so, so it's not too bad.

colditz · 15/06/2007 20:43

sorted. rthankyou

Boredveryverybored, you don't need to do the right clicking nonsense. Look at my instructions further down - get the top one highlighted, hold down delete and they're all gone inseconds.
