Free video editing programmes?

I have been using Moviemaker for years and I like it - but it isn't tremendously accurate and it can't do much

I'm not very techy....and I have tried Lightworks and watched videos and I just don't understand how it works - I feel a complete numpty

Is there another free or fairly cheap video editor that I could try?

Try Splice or Cinemagraph. Out of both I'd use splice to merge different clips together and add audio

Thanks I'll give it a go - is it really easy to use (I'm not saying I'm stupid....actually I am!)

Movie maker is annoying me as the timing is off if you pause the video

Is Splice just for Apple?
