Has anyone had a Huwaei Phone?

Long shot but I want to get my DD a new phone for her birthday. I'm looking at the Huwaei y7 which is currently at £129 in carphone warehouse. It's a mid range smart phone.
We've only had Samsung's in the last few years so don't have any experience with this brand and wondered if they are any good as its still alot of money if it's not going to do the basics as in battery life, not too slow, reliable etc.

My dd has a Huawei p9 lite that she got for Christmas. She likes it, the spec is pretty good for the money. It has a fingerprint sensor, memory card slot and decent camera. She's had no issues with hers so far. I'm due for an upgrade and I'm seriously considering a P20/P20 Pro as they have a very good spec for less £ than the Samsung equivalent.

Thanks @BlessedBeTheFruitCake i ended up getting her the y7 2018. She has only had it since Saturday but so far so good. I'm the same, always had Samsung's but might start looking at these other brands as they seem pretty good

I've got one and love it. I used to be a loyal apple customer but I'd never go back them now.

Haven't got one but seen them in the store the other day and was very impressed.

Think I would give them a go over Apple next time I change phones

I have the P10 and would get another when it's time to upgrade. Before switching I had Samsungs, it's very similar but in my opinion it's better (and cheaper) and it has a much better camera. Would definitely recommend.

Husband has one, loves it. He has previously had Apple and Samsung and prefers this. Honor 8 I think he has. Nice phones.

Just bought that exact phone, after lifelong loyalty to Apple and I love it. It's a great phone at a great price.

I have a Huawei P9 Lite. Have had it a year maybe. I can't fault it. Not glitchy at all.

I've got a Huawei p8 Lite. It's great! I always had Samsung or Sony previously, and was a bit apprehensive, but it's brilliant. Mine seems to be pretty indestructible too. Has been dropped numerous times, and been drenched in the bath and the sea, and is still going! Only thing that does my head in, is that the edge of the screen is slightly curved, so screen protectors don't go right to the edge, leaving a bit exposed. Smashed the screen pretty early on.
